Just before the fall season is over and we head straight into Christmas season, it is time for some good old German pear cake with Streusel (crumble).
What you need (serves 8)
- 350g flour
- 1/2 spoon ground cinnamon
- 5 eggs
- 250g sugar
- 250g butter
- 1 spoon vanilla extract
- 1 spoon baking soda
- 2kg pears
How you do it
Peel pears, cut them in quarters and remove seeds. Dice the peara afterwards. Reserve those for later.
Whisk eggs and sugar until you get a foamy texture. Add butter, vanilla and cinnamon. Keep whisking all ingredients together.
Mix flour and baking soda and add those slowly to the batter.
Spread the batter on a recangular large form. Cover with pears and some “Streusel”.
Oven the cake for aprox 45 minuts at 180ºC.
