In case it is too cold outside to get to the next Donut shop, why don’t you try making your own? You will be the star at Christmas with these fantastic cinnamon-nutmeg donuts.
What you need (8-10 donuts)
Dough
- 200g flour
- 100g warm milk
- 15g fresh yeast
- 30g sugar
- 50g butter
Oil for frying
Icing
- 1 tangerine
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup icing sugar
How you do it
Knead all dough ingredients into a dough. Place in a bowl and let grow for 30 minutes aprox in a warm spot.
Take the fermented dough and with some extra flour knead once more.
Spread mass into your preffered thickness and cut-out donuts. Let set for 5 minutes to allow some extra spongy growth.
Fry in hot oil ffrom each side a few minutes until the donuts are golden brown. Let them cool down before applying icing
Squeeze out tangerine juice. Mix with all remaining icing ingredients using a brush. You should obtain a thick icing paste.
Apply icing over donuts.
