Well Christmas is just in a few days and still people are going crazy about what to cook on Christmas Eve, Christmas, etc and other holidays that are coming. Instead of posting a recipe or dish that you could/should cook for one of the holiday meals, at The Chef Cat we wanted to give you a recipe that will make your holiday-cooking easier and less stressful: The All-Purpose Holiday Apple. You can use it
- for poultry fillings chicken, turkey etc,
- as universal sider for meat, fish, veggies, etc
- for desserts such as hot sider with ice-cream, pie-filling, custards, etc
What you need
- These are the ratios of ingredients
- 4 apples
- 60ml brown rum
- 3 teaspoons grounded cinnamon
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract or seeds of 1 vanilla bean
- 3 teaspoon grounded black pepper
- 6 spoons honey or maple syrup
- 6 cloves
How you do it
Peel, slice and dice the apples. Put the apple-dices with all other ingredients in a pot and cook the mix for aprox. 30 minutes.
Serve and enjoy directly or you can also bottle the apples and use them whenever you need them
