Cheeky Cheeks in Red Wine

And we stay with the traditonal Spanish Dishes. To make cheeks usually used to be for the lower classes and was not well considered. Nowadays this traditional dish has come up again and is served in the most luxurious restaurants all over the country. Or you can make it at home.

What you need (serves 2)

  • 2 pieces cheek
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 turnip
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 twig rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 4 spoons olive oil
  • 1 cup red wine
  • Salt

How you do it:

Peel and chop all veggies. Stir fry them in a pot with olive oil, bay leaves, and rosemary. Add all spices and salt. Keep roasting for 10 mins.

Place in the cheek meat and roast from both sides for 3 minutes.

Add the wine and cook for aprox 50 mins.

Serve and enjoy
