Focaccia

After a lot of meaty dishes it is again to post something vegan. Thi time we go for some easy but very nice and delicious Italian snack: Foccacia.

Below you will the basic recipe. However, you can always add some delish extras such as grilled veggies, cheese, herbs, etc.

What you need (2 foccacias)

  • 500g flour
  • 250 ml warm water
  • 5g dry yeast or 12g fresh baker’s yeast
  • 1/2 spoon salt
  • 1/2 spoon sugar
  • oregano
  • olive oil
  • salt

How you do it:

Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Add the flour and 1/2 salt and sugar and knead until you have a homogeneous dough. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and place nearby sth warm. Let it grow for at least 2 hours.

Knead the dough once more. Divide into 2 pieces and extend both on a baking pan.

With brush pain the upper part of the dough with some olive oil. Sprinkle oregano and salt.

Preheat the oven at 190° C with bottom heat. Place the pan with the foccacia on the lowest lever of your oven and bake aprox 12 minutes.

Serve and enjoy
