Carrot and Pumpkin Chips

Making your own chips seems to be somehow trendy. The last awesome post I saw was from Randy on his blog http://splendidrecipesandmore.com/. So I wanted to carry on with that and went for some tasty carrot and pumpkin chips.

What you need:

  • 300g pumpkin
  • 300g carrots
  • 1/2 l sunflower oil
  • salt

How you do it:

It is really important to cut slice the pumpkin and carrots into thin slices. I would recommend to use a slicer to ease things up. While slicing make sure to heat up the oil in pan until it is really hot. add the slices and fry them until they are crunchy. You will know when they are done when th oil stops producing bubbles. When you take out the chips they will be dripping oil. So it is recommendable to put the chips first on top of a napkin, that will help to drain the excess of oil. Salt the chips a little bit.

Then serve and enjoy
