Five Layer Cake

SC20140125-151105-1

How many layers does a cake need? Bakers and patisseurs have been arguing about this topic for ages. We tried one with five layers.  Cookies, chocolate cake, Bavarian vanilla cream, peach jelly, and blackberry cream cheese topping. Check it out

What you need:

200g butter cookies

100g butter

3 eggs

100 g dark chocolate

30 g flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

6 spoons sugar

2 packages vanilla custard powder

500 ml milk

250 g curd cheese

5 layers gelatin

400 ml peach juice

200 g cream cheese

50 g blackberries

How you do it:

Cookie Layer:

Crush the cookies. Melt the butter and mix everything together until you get a unified mass. Place this cookie mass at the bottom of your cake recipient.

Chocolate Cake:

Stir the eggs with 3 spoons sugar. Add slowly the baking soda and the flour. Melt the dark chocolate and add also to the batter. Bake it for 20 minutes at 180º C. Take it afterwards out of the oven, let it cool down and then cut it into the form of your cake recipient. Put it on top of the cookies.

Vanilla Cream:

Take 3 spoons milk and mix it with the custard powder and 3 spoons sugar. Heat up the rest of the milk. When the milk starts boiling add the mix to the hot milk. Stir until everything starts boiling again. Take the custard from the stove and mix it with the curd cheese. Let it cool down. Add it afterwards on top of the chocolate cake

Peach Jelly:

Take the peach juice and heat it up. Meanwhile put the gelatin layers for 3 minutes in water to soften them. When the gelatin layers are soft enough add them to the juice. Do not let the juice boil. Add it afterwards on top of the vanilla cream.

Blackberry Cream Cheese

Blend the blackberries. Add them to the cream cheese and mix everything until you get a homogeneous mix. Use this mix to top off the cake.

Serve and enjoy
